Learning and Skills Council

The Learning and Skills Council (LSC) is a non-departmental public body, which began work in 2001, taking over the roles of the former Further Education Funding Council and Training and Enterprise Councils’.  The area Director for the LSC West branch recognised the potential of Activate Your Workplace for improving staff fitness levels and contributing towards reducing sickness absence. As a result, the LSC agreed to pilot the programme in the London West offices from June 2007.

Since its launch, over 76% of staff from the London West offices have participated in the programme. AYW has been taken up with much vigour and has begun to play a central role within the organisation and it is hoped it will remain on the agenda in the foreseeable future.
